Andrew Zimmern’s Milwaukee Scavenger Hunt

No you don’t have to wander around the City eating testicles, tounges and tripe as you would expect a contest with Mr. Zimmern to entail.  Here are the details:

M I LWAUKEE, WI (October 11, 2010) – Last month was the Twin Cities’ chance to find two tickets to paradise through an innovative digital treasure hunt; now it’ s Milwaukee’ s turn. Travel Leaders from the Greater Milwaukee Area and world-traveling food expert Andrew Zimmern are teaming up to give away a gourmet trip of a lifetime to Mexico this fall. The clues will ultimately lead game-players to the hidden trip for two – which will be located somewhere in Milwaukee.

Travel Leaders’ Pursuit of Paradise uses Facebook, Twitter and other social media portals to give clues to the place where the tickets have been hidden somewhere in Milwaukee.

“ I have accumulated so many frequent flyer miles that I decided to give some of them away in a creative way to someone here in Milwaukee,” said Zimmern, who hosts the Travel Channel’ s popular “ Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.” “ Knowing how much I love to travel and explore different locations, I want to give them to someone who has a sense of adventure, a love of travel and a passion for the Greater Milwaukee Area.”

Milwaukee’ s Pursuit of Paradies is also supporting a great cause, with a contribution being made to Global Explorers for every entrant in the contest. Global Explorers is a nonprofit that underwrites educational and service travel programs around the world for low-income students.

The grand prize for the participant who interprets the clues and finds the prize will be a Mexico vacation package from Travel Leaders and Funjet Vacations. The winner will receive roundtrip airfare and stay at the El Dorado Seaside Suites by Karisma in the Mayan Riviera. Fitting for a trip given away by gourmand Zimmern, the seven-day excursion features an all-inclusive gourmet food menu available 24-hours a day
during the trip.

Finding the tickets won’ t be easy, but it should be fun. Zimmern and Travel Leaders will provide an online puzzle participants must complete throughout the month of October that will lead to the location of the travel prize package. The puzzle answer will be uncovered when players correctly answer trivia questions about Milwaukee, travel and Andrew Zimmern.
